We would make no
claims to be a winter sports location.
However, guests staying during the winter have had very easy and
enjoyable trips to the Sierra Nevada, (southern Europe's highest
mountains and Spain's top ski destination). You can be on the ski-lift in 90 minutes from El Molino
There is good snow from
mid-December through until Easter, occasionally topped up by snow
cannon to extend the season. There are 84kms of piste, with 79 runs
ranging from Green to Black. There is also a dedicated snowboarding
park
Solynieve, the main ski resort,
gets a poor write-up in the Rough Guide to Andalucia, but most
people find it very pleasant and a great place for churros y
chocolate at the end of an energetic day. You can hire ski or
snowboard equipment anywhere in the resort
Being so far south, be sure to
take plenty of sun protection!
